PD Tech Sessions: April 2015

Quarter 3 is over and Quarter 4 looms ahead...perfect timing, then, to take a breather during our April PD Inservice to explore ideas for enhancing our technology integration for the last part of the year.

Our first session, Schoology 2.0, focused on working with the quiz, rubric, and iPad annotation functions of Schoology. After exploring these options as a group, attendees had time to create their own quiz or rubric, or test out the annotation functions on their iPads. For those of you who couldn't attend, check out the web resources to the right to help you on your own explorations, and take a look at my time-saving tips under the Schoology Tips and Tricks page on this site.

We were joined by Melina Maltese, a graduate student from Concordia University, for our second session on Flipped Innovations. Melina led the group in exploring ThingLink and EdPuzzle, which allow teachers to create interactive versions of graphics and videos for students to explore at home as part of a flipped classroom environment. Melina's excellent handouts on these tools (with some information about EduCanon as well) are below. Thank you, Melina!

    "I am passionately curious..."

    Albert Einstein called himself this, and I love the idea. I too am passionately curious about what other great minds are creating and sharing. I have curated here some thought-provoking resources to assist our amazing SMA faculty as they progress in their 1:1 iPad journey.
